In “Think and Grow Rich”, Napoleon Hill writes: “My faith is so strong that I can now see this money before my eyes.”

Remember the instruction, Napoleon Hill gives in chapter 4 of “Think and Grow Rich”?  If not, get your free copy and read it. It is the book’s essence (see sidebar)

In chapter 4 of “Think and Grow Rich”, Napoleon Hill strongly suggests to compose a written statement and to repeat it night and morning. To imagine money is an essential part of it.

“Auto-Suggestion – The Medium for Influencing the Subconscious Mind” is the title of chapter 4 in “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill. In this chapter, Napoleon Hill describes the power of Auto-Suggestion and he recommends to imagine the desired amount of money over and over again.

In a print ad from 1937, Napoleon Hill and The Ralston Society promoted “Think and Grow Rich”. The headline above is taken from that ad.

“This book will give you a SUCCESS MIND – bring you into immediate contact with a new irresistible POWER which will automatically remove the obstacles that get in your way.”, Napoleon Hill wrote in his ad.

A constituent part of “Think and Grow Rich” are the 13 Steps toward Riches (Desire, Faith, Auto-Suggestion, Specialized Knowledge, Imagination, Organized Planning, Decision, Persistence, Power of the Master Mind, The Mystery of Sex Transmutation, The Subconscious Mind, The Brain, The Sixth Sense).

This is what the ad said about the 13 Steps to Riches:

What is Auto-Suggestion? In his book “Think And Grow Rich”, Napoleon Hill explains:

“AUTO-SUGGESTION is a term which applies to all suggestions and all self-ad-ministered stimuli which reach one’s mind through the five senses. Stated in another way, auto-suggestion is self-suggestion.”

Napoleon Hill considers Auto-Suggestion as the most important part in his formula of getting rich. He states a simple but effective 3-Step-procedure that can be easily customized to one’s personal needs (see “Think And Grow Rich”, Chapter 4).

Napoleon Hill says in this chapter:

“You are now reading the chapter which represents the keystone to the arch of this philosophy. The instructions contained in this chapter must be understood and APPLIED WITH PERSISTENCE, if you succeed in transmuting desire into money.”
